Man arrested for alleged possession of pornography

David Teal David Teal Thousand Oaks police made an arrest seven months after executing a search warrant and seizing computers and digital storage devices at a home in Newbury Park in connection with a child pornography investigation.

On Aug. 18, David Henry Teal, 45, of Newbury Park was arrested and charged with felony possession or control of child pornography and booked into the Ventura County Jail. Bail was set at $50,000. The 6-foot, 200-pound man with brown eyes and black hair was released on Aug. 20 with a date at the Ventura County Superior Courthouse set for this week.

In January, the Thousand Oaks Police Department’s Internet crimes against children unit executed a search warrant at Teal’s home on Newbury Road.

Law enforcement was searching for child pornography after police allege Teal was identified as someone who was downloading and possessing child pornography during an undercover investigation using peer-to-peer file sharing.

After Teal’s computers and digital storage devices were seized, the Southern California High Tech Task Force conducted a forensic examination of all the items. HTTF is a group of prosecutors and investigators who fight cyber crime.

Hundreds of child pornography videos and images were allegedly found on Teal’s computers and digital media.

Teal was arrested without incident, according to a police report.
