Laubach Literacy of Ventura County is offering a free workshop to train volunteers as English as Second Language tutors of adults.

The workshop will be on two days: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat., Sept. 12 and 9 to 11 a.m. Sat., Oct. 3 at Centro Evangelistico in Oxnard.

Volunteers will need to attend both sessions.

Directions to the site will be given upon registration.

Those who finish the workshop will receive a certificate of completion.

Various methods and materials for teaching English to adults will be demonstrated during the workshops. Tutors will be able to teach reading, writing and speaking English to adults who are not fluent English speakers.

Volunteers do not need teaching experience nor the ability to speak a foreign language.
