Oaks Christian to open new campus
The grand opening of Oaks Christian School’s new middle school campus will be Fri., Aug. 21 at 31829 La Tienda Drive, Westlake Village.
Guests may tour the building and its state-of-the-art facilities at 3 p.m.
A dedication and ribboncutting will take place at 4:15 p.m., followed by a bridge ceremony, where the new middle school will be united with the existing high school campus. Local city officials and dignitaries will be present.
The new campus, formerly the site of Condor Pacific, has been redesigned over the past year to accommodate the growing needs of Oaks Christian School.
The nearly 7-acre campus has a 72,000-square-foot classroom building, three tennis courts, a multipurpose playing field named Huffman Field and a social lawn.
The facility is specifically targeted to the academic development of middle schoolage children, utilizing learning areas called “pod-architecture,” in which individual classrooms encircle a large meeting room. Each pod grouping represents a different grade level.
The new campus has its own dining and social development areas, athletics facilities and student clubs.
The students will have access to the swimming stadium and the Bedrosian Pavilion via a new pedestrian bridge.
The creation of a separate middle school campus will enable the school to convert existing middle school classrooms into additional space for the high school, and allow for an increase in student enrollment at both levels.
The school has more than 400 middle school students and 780 high school students enrolled for the coming year.
