The health of a nation is at stake; why let lobbyists contol the debate?
I can’t help wonder where Mr. Holm gets his information, most likely Fox News or Rush Limbaugh.
“All of America” isn’t debating Obama’s healthcare package. Thanks to strong lobbying groups, well-funded by the health insurance industry, there’s no debate. These groups are training people and sending them around the country to disrupt every attempt at debate. They pass themselves off as a grass-roots effort.
Wake up, people! You’re being bought! Their moblike, hooligan tactics are keeping Americans from hearing a plan, and, worse, they’re keeping people from getting the healthcare they need. Health insurance companies haven’t “approved” anything. The only thing they want to do is stop reform at all cost.
They’re spending billions to keep the status quo. Why? Because the public option being discussed in Congress will cut into their exorbitant profits.
Part of the billions they’re spending is going to buy “our” representatives, Republicans and Democrats.
Take a good look at the second word in the term “public option.” It means you get to choose.
If you like keeping insurance company CEOs rich, you can stay with them. If you want a plan that cares about the health in healthcare, you can go with the public option plan.
The scare tactic that Obama and the Democrats want to “kill off” American seniors is so outrageously absurd it’s criminal.
The problem is there are so many naive people in this country who run and hide under the cover of conservatism every time conservatives use scare tactics that it works.
Pull your head out of the Republican sand and do your homework. The same people who scream “Socialist!” also scream “Don’t touch my Medicare!”
I don’t know if that’s naive or just plain ignorant. Two of the best-run systems in this country, Medicare and VA Health Care, are government-operated healthcare systems. I’m not eligible for either. I’d like to hear the option.
The system we have is killing Americans by denying needed healthcare. I’m sure Mr. Holm of Westlake Village can afford adequate healthcare, so why should he care? Sherry Jensen Thousand Oaks
