Conejo Players will host auditions
Conejo Players Theatre will have auditions for the musical “Bert n’ Eddie” by Dick De Benedictis at 7:30 p.m. Mon., Tues. and Wed., Aug. 31 through Sept. 2 at the theater, 351 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.
Performance dates are Nov. 13 through Dec. 12. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays.
Actors should bring a resume and a list of all conflicts with the rehearsal schedule, Sept. 3 through Nov. 12.
Also bring sheet music in the proper key; an accompanist will be provided. No CDs and no a cappella. Each actor must be able to sing with the piano.
Bring comfortable clothes for a short dance combination. There will also be cold readings from the script. No appointment is necessary.
There is no pay for performances.
The play is the story of the friendship of Bert Williams and Eddie Cantor that carried them through union upheaval and racial unrest. The setting is the Ziegfeld Follies, and the show features songs and routines by Williams and Cantor.
