•Angela Garboski was named to the dean’s list for both the fall 2008 and spring 2009 semesters at San Diego State University.

Her academic scholarship places her in the top 10 percent of all undergraduate students in the College of Science.

•Sasha Yan of Thousand Oaks was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at Washington University in St. Louis.

Yan is a graduate of Westlake High School and is enrolled in the university’s College of Art in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts.

To qualify for the dean’s list in the College of Art, full-time students must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or above.

•Laura Schaffer of Thousand Oaks has been named to the Whitworth University Laureate Society for spring semester 2009Schaffer qualified for the academic honor society by maintaining a grade-point average of at least 3.75.

The university is a private liberal arts school with undergraduate and graduate programs in Spokane, Wash.
