Dance/theater class is offered by N.Y. artist
Melinda Sullivan
Melinda Sullivan, who grew up in Newbury Park, has traveled from New York to present a workshop from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tues., Aug. 11 at Agoura Hills Dance and Performing Arts Center, 5015 Cornell Road in the Regency Theatres cinema center, Agoura Hills.
Classes in tap and musical theater will be offered. Advanced registration is recommended.
Sullivan appears as Zoe Fin in the daytime drama “As The World Turns.”
Sullivan, a dancer, singer and actress, has been working steadily in New York. She was an original cast member of the stage versions of Disney’s “High School Musical” and “High School Musical Two.”
She was also in the 25th anniversary tour of “CATS” and has appeared in numerous “Town Hall Broadway By the Year” performances as a soloist and choreographer.
At age 8 Sullivan began her training with Betsy Melber, owner and director of Agoura Hills Dance, and studied tap with Melber for six years.
Sullivan won the Los Angeles Music Center Spotlight Award with a tap solo choreographed by Mark Mendonca.
Sullivan is a company member of the Emmy award-winning Jason Samuels Smith “Anybody Can Get It” with performances at the New York City Center’s Fall For Dance and the Sadler Wells Theatre in London.
