The third annual Free to Breathe 5K run/walk will be Sun., Aug. 2 at Dockweiler State Park, 12001 Vista Del Mar, Playa Del Rey.

Registration opens at 7 a.m. The 5K and 1.5-mile walk begin at 8:30 a.m.

Additional activities include a morning expo and a community rally immediately following the race.

Awards will be given to men and women by age categories and the top overall female and male.

The fundraiser is sponsored by National Lung Cancer Partnership, with all proceeds helping to support the partnership's research, education and awareness programs.

Registration is $30 on event day and discounted for early sign up.
