Students earn academic honors

Brendan W. Callahan made the spring dean's list at Boston University. He's the son of Donna and Bill Callahan of Thousand Oaks.

Maile Hetherington of Thousand Oaks was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. Students who receive this honor have achieved a 3.6 gradepoint average or above.

Daniel F. Burkhart of Lake Sherwood was named to the dean's list for the spring 2009 semester at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio. For this honor, fulltime students must have a grade-point average of at least 3.5.

James Rumenapp of Thousand Oaks received a $1,000 scholarship award from The Baxter International Foundation. These awards are given each year to high-achieving students who are the children of Baxter International Inc. employees.

Nicholas Panzica of Thousand Oaks was named to the spring term 2009 dean's list at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Conn., an independent secondary school with boarding and day students from 41 states and 33 countries.

PeterDiaz, a resident of Westlake Village and a sophomore at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, is listed on the honor roll. For this honor, students must be in the top 15 percent of their school.

Allison Martone of Westlake Village was named to the dean's list for the 2009 spring quarter at DePaul University in Chicago. Full-time students must earn a 3.5 grade-point average or above to qualify for this honor.

Chelsea Melamed was named to the 2008-09 Lawrence University dean's list for maintaining a minimum 3.4 gradepoint average. Melamed is the daughter of Scott and Milissa Melamed of Thousand Oaks and a 2007 graduate of Ventura Senior High School.
