Mayor to attend League of Cities in San Jose

2009-07-30 / Community

Mayor Tom Glancy will attend the 2009 League of California Cities annual conference as the city's voting delegate. The September conference will be at the San Jose Convention Center.

The Thousand Oaks City Council chose to send Glancy at its July 14 meeting.

At the conference, cities share ideas through success stories and lessons learned, with discussion forums on areas of interests such as community services, disaster planning, environment, finance, housing, infrastructure, public works, personnel, public safety and technology.

Alternate delegates, one of whom will attend if Glancy is unable to, are Councilmember Dennis Gillette and the city's legislative affairs manager Mina Layba.

The city has budgeted $500 for the conference registration and $600 for travel and expenses.
