Trader Joe's to open new store

Trader Joe's will celebrate the grand opening of its Newbury Park store starting at 9 a.m. Fri., Aug. 7.

Trader Joe's Capt. Matt Judd, store manager, and Second Mate Dave Raftery, assistant manager, will gather at 9 a.m. with dignitaries to welcome new customers.

The celebration will continue throughout the day with music, food samples, a face painter and balloon artist.

The new 11,200-square-foot store is at 125 N. Reino Road and will be open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. seven days a week.

Judd comes to the new store from the Trader Joe's in Thousand Oaks and has worked for the company for 20 years. Raftery previously worked at the Ventura store.
