The Ventura County West Valley Chapter of TRIO (Transplant Recipients International Organization) will present Shahryar Ashouri, MD, from 7 to 9 p.m. Fri., July 17 in the Conejo Room at Baxter Health Care Company, 1 Baxter Way, Westlake Village.

Ashouri will discuss treating cancer with radiation and accept questions from the audience. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in transplant recipients, according to TRIO.

Ashouri is a hematologist and oncologist who graduated from the USC School of Medicine. He is assistant professor of hematology and oncology at UCLA Geffen School of Medicine and UCLA Hematology and Oncology of Westlake Village.
