Ventura County Gilbert & Sullivan Repertoire Company will open auditions for its 200910 season of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas on July 18 and 19 at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

All roles are open for "Yeoman of the Guard," performing Oct. 2 to 18, and "Princess Ida," performing March 5 to 21, 2010.

"Yeoman," set in the late 16th/ early 17th century on the Tower Green in London, requires six male principal roles, four female principal roles, two male solo only, two small speaking roles and ensemble and traveling players.

"Princess Ida," a Gothic period piece based an Alfred Lord Tennyson poem, requires eight principal men, seven principal women and ensemble.

All performers must act, sing and do simple choreography. All ethnicities and ages are welcome.
