Park district and city were unwilling to negotiate on Lang Ranch Park
      It's unfortunate your June 25 editorial ("The NIMBYs have won again") misrepresented the concerns of homeowners and disregarded the legal facts borne out in the ruling in the Lang Ranch Community Park environmental impact report lawsuit.

Court decision on Lang Ranch Park was fair and just
      The Acorn editorial "The NIMBYs have won again" was a disservice to the people of Thousand Oaks. Rather than a setback, the Superior Court decision was a victory for the United States Constitution and the protection of a free society from unwarranted governmental intrusion.

Living next door to a park isn't always wonderful
      The Acorn really needs to dismount from its high horse, quit using a "Don't damn motherhood and apple pie" approach and consider the impacts current parks and schoolbased afterhours recreational programs have on the quality of life of the citizens of Thousand Oaks.

Now's a bad time to be spending money on parks
      I read your one-sided blather about the recent action of the court to halt the politically motivated and over-sized economic horror that was to be the "Lang Ranch Community Park." I wish you would have taken the time to gather your facts, but I assume that it would have just been a waste of time since you had already made up your mind.

      Your opinion column of June 25 was literally over the top regarding the legal ruling against Conejo Recreation and Park District's Lang Ranch Community Park project.

Unhappy with the leadership of our local school district
      When are residents of Thousand Oaks going to wake up and realize that the (Superintendent Mario) "Contini group" isn't working? As our schools lose their Distinguished certification, the finger pointing comes out.
