The Canyon will host Comedy Night
Tickets are now on sale for Comedy in the Conejo III, coming Sun., Aug. 9 to The Canyon, 28921 Roadside Drive, Agoura Hills. The show is from 7:30 to 9 p.m. with an optional dinner, social and silent auction at 6 p.m. The event is a major fundraiser for Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks and proceeds will benefit charities that serve underprivileged children and senior citizens.
This year's event is sponsored by First California Bank.
The master of ceremonies will be Frazer Smith, who appears weekly at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, and five comedians will perform: Steve Bruner, Quinn Dahle, Michael Kosta, Rudy Moreno and Louis Ashmallah.
Among the 7:15 p.m. live auction items will be an eight-day, seven-night vacation for four to six couples (or up to 12 people) at the Casa Acantilada in Manzanillo, Mexico. It's a gated villa with six master bedrooms on the hills overlooking Manzanillo Bay and a full-time house staff of three. Also up for auction will be "Fighter Pilot for a Day," with the winning bidder acting as a gunner/missile officer who will team up with a former military pilot for one hour of simulated combat against another fighter aircraft. An L.A. Lakers 2009 championship sports memorabilia item will also be available.
More than 40 items are expected for the silent auction.
Advance tickets for the show and social are $30 each ($35 at the door). The optional dinner for $35 (which includes tax and tip) will include a salad, choice of dinner entree (prime rib, chicken or lasagna) and coffee.
