Area students make the dean's list
The following Thousand Oaks residents received academic honors at their respective colleges.
•Amy Schaffer, who is majoring in computer science and multimedia studies, was named to the 2009 spring semester dean's list at Northeastern University in Boston.
For this honor, students must carry at least four courses, have a quality-point average of 3.25 or higher and carry no grade lower than a C.
•Mary Daniels and Megan Vroman were both named to the spring 2009 dean's list at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. Dean's list students have a grade-point average of at least 3.4.
•Caroline Elizabeth Dunbar has been accepted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Gold Key International Honour Society.
Dunbar is a junior at Seton Hall University in New Jersey. She has a 4.0 gradepoint average with a double major in art history/museum studies and religion. Dunbar is a graduate of La Reina High School and the daughter of John and Tracy Dunbar.
•Jessica Standafer of Newbury Park made the spring 2009 dean's list for Wagner College of Staten Island, N.Y., which requires a 3.5 gradepoint average or better.
•Noel Baker of Newbury Park was named to the President's Honor Roll for the spring 2009 semester at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas.
This honor included 281 students.
For this honor, students must complete at least 12 hours in the semester with only A grades.
