Keeping track of a cat was never easier
IRIS SMOOT/Acorn Newspapers SIMPLE PROCEDURE—Dr. Pauline Perry, left, and Polly Braiwick insert a microchip into Shadow, a 3-year-old cat owned by Stasia Simrall of Thousand Oaks at the Arboles Animal Clinic during last Thursday's Microchip Clinic Day. A microchip about the size of a grain of rice is implanted beneath the skin between the shoulder blades. Using a scanner, a veterinarian or shelter worker can read the microchip and trace a lost pet back to its owner.
