Attacked unfairly by a city appointee
      On June 11 the Acorn printed a vicious personal attack on a private citizen (me) by Thousand Oaks traffic commissioner Rick Lemmo.

Tear down some houses to protect endangered plant?
      So a few NIMBYs (Not In My Back Yard) have again slowed plans for Lang Ranch Park that would serve a large, underserved section of T.O, thus causing yet more legal fees, planning costs and untold inflationary costs to the rest of the park district.

Acorn praised for June 18 editorial
      Kudos to the T.O. Acorn for its measured assessment in the June 18 editorial ("Zero tolerance is what it says") regarding the Newbury Park prom dispute. Justice may not always be meted out as fairly as we think it should; however, that's a poor reason to withhold it altogether.

Homeless woman causes a problem
      I've lived in Westlake Village for 30 years, and it's alarming to see a homeless woman living on the bench on Village Glen and Townsgate Road, throwing her food into the street. This has been going on for years; the bench can't be used by anybody because her junk is stored on it.

Ambulance rides are expensive
      I was recently hospitalized at Los Robles Hospital for a brief spell. When the hospital learned I was a member of Kaiser Permanente, I was transferred by ambulance to Kaiser's hospital in Woodland Hills. I was transported to Los Robles by paramedics. There wasn't any charge.
