48 retire from Conejo school district
Conejo Valley Unified School District celebrated the retirement of 48 employees earlier this month, including several longtime administrators and teachers.
Thirty of the retirees were teachers.
Betsy Kossler, a computer teacher at Redwood Middle School, has been with the district for 40 years.
"The students of CVUSD have been extraordinarily well-served by the outstanding employees who are now moving on to a welldeserved retirement," said Superintendent Mario Contini. "When you add their experience it totals hundreds of years. There is no doubt that they have had a profound impact on our youth, providing them guidance, compassion and the tools for a successful life.
"We congratulate them and will certainly miss them a great deal."
Sam Kane, a counselor at Colina Middle School, is retiring after 38 years with CVUSD. And Dorothy Estrin, a special education paraprofessional, is leaving after 30 years.
JoAnn Yoos, assistant superintendent, personnel services, is one of several administrators retiring. Yoos has been with CVUSD for 29 years. Linda Calvin, who's been with the district for 41 years, is retiring from her position as associate director of pupil services.
The district acknowledged the service of its retirees at its 26th annual Retirement Recognition Ceremony on June 8.
