Former eatery is getting makeover
The old Hungry Hunter restaurant at 487 N. Moorpark Road has deteriorated since it closed two years ago.
It looks like it could be haunted by the animals whose heads once occupied the walls and overlooked diners. Hungry Hunter was a popular eatery in Thousand Oaks for decades.
Help may be on the way. An application was approved by the city on Fri., June 12 to allow exterior and interior remodeling of the 4,300-square-foot building, with no expansion in size.
The approved floor plan shows three separate retail spaces. One of them is intended to be a restaurant with an outdoor patio for customer dining.
No prospective tenants have been identified and the applicant, Harry Tizabgar, doesn't know when the renovations will be completed.
