The Thousand Oaks City Council should be praised, not blamed, for not allowing a new Home Depot on Hampshire Road.

Traffic is already congested at the 101 Freeway on- and offramps.

The June 18 letter headline "Home Depot deserves to open in Thousand Oaks" is misleading because T.O. already has a Home Depot- - Newbury Park is part of Thousand Oaks, remember?

The laments are repeatedly coming from Home Depot employees, I suspect.

The visions of increased profits with a new store aren't based on reality; surely the Newbury Park store's profits would go down with an identical store in town.
