We read with amazement the June 11 article about reporting our neighbors for misusing water ("Residents are encouraged to report water hogs.")

It's amazing to us, and more than a little scary, that we are asked to tattle on those around us. And this is, in part, to save a fish?

Ask for responsible water usage, yes, but please don't put the thought into anyone's head to spy and report others to an anonymous phone line.

This is beyond the pale.
