Home Depot: Stop playing with words

Home Depot is trying their version of "new rules" by calling their new proposal a "neighborhood hardware store" at the old Kmart facility. Zoning which allows a small neighborhood grocery store doesn't mean a Wal-Mart superstore.

Zoning for a neighborhood variety store doesn't mean a Costco.

Most definitely, zoning for a neighborhood hardware store doesn't mean a Home Depot home improvement store.

Rejection isn't always easy to deal with, but alienating their prospective customer base might not be pleasant either.

Their customers said no to congestion, no to noise, no to pollution and no to prime-time gridlock. The City Council listened to those citizens and responded properly.

Isn't it time the Home Depot does the same? Bill Karm Westlake Village
