Some parents have lost track of accountability
Accountability. The word should be etched in the forehead of every parent who questioned the alcohol/ drug testing suspensions at the Newbury Park prom. The parents missed a golden "teachable moment.

One letter with two questions
Regarding Dorthy Campagna's "shoot the coyotes" letter, doesn't our history tell us that our forefathers did the same thing to buffalo and native Americans? Regarding the story about seniors being banned from graduation ceremonies, has anyone asked when the Breathalyzers were last calibrated and certified?

Coyotes have a role to play in the balance of nature
This is in response to Dorothy Campagna's June 18 letter ("If coyotes put human beings in peril, shoot them.") We need another Home Depot like a hole in the head
The Thousand Oaks City Council should be praised, not blamed, for not allowing a new Home Depot on Hampshire Road. Traffic is already congested at the 101 Freeway on- and offramps.

Reporting 'water hogs' is bad idea
We read with amazement the June 11 article about reporting our neighbors for misusing water ("Residents are encouraged to report water hogs.") It's amazing to us, and more than a little scary, that we are asked to tattle on those around us. And this is, in part, to save a fish?

To help The Lakes make money, his fee is only $50,000
Hey, I see that The Lakes shopping center sales are down and, also, there are too many RVs parking on city streets. Maybe the empty Lakes parking spots could be rented to RV owners for storage.
