Substation, power lines topic of public hearing today
      Residents will get a chance to express their views on a proposal to build an electrical substation on Olsen Road with power lines going through the Tierra Rejada greenbelt. The state Public Utilities Commission will hold a public hearing on the substation proposal at 3 p.m. today, June 25, at the Palm Garden Hotel, Palm II Room, 495 N. Ventu Park Road, Thousand Oaks.

Relay for Life support needed
      A team captain planning meeting for the Conejo Valley Relay for Life will be from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Goebel Senior Center, 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. The meeting is for experienced relay team captains and also for individuals and groups interested in starting or joining a team for the relay, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
