See them soon, the season is peaking

IRIS SMOOT/Acorn Newspapers IRIS SMOOT/Acorn Newspapers LIKE LITTLE PUFFY COTTON CLOUDS- Matilija poppies (Romneya coulteri) are in full bloom at the Conejo Valley Botanic Garden. Many poppies are also showing buds right now, signaling that the next wave of blooms will appear in the upcoming week. The Matilija poppy is known for having the largest bloom of any California native plant. The garden is at 350 W. Gainsborough Road, or it can be accessed from Conejo Community Park at Dover and Hendrix avenues.
