Former eatery is getting makeover
      The old Hungry Hunter restaurant at 487 N. Moorpark Road has deteriorated since it closed two years ago. It looks like it could be haunted by the animals whose heads once occupied the walls and overlooked diners. Hungry Hunter was a popular eatery in Thousand Oaks for decades.

CLU says 'Macbeth' is cursed
      Since 13 is the unluckiest of numbers, the Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival will kick off its 13th season with what is considered the Bard's most superstitious play, "Macbeth." The play has a long history of disastrous events associated with its production, starting with the first actor who portrayed Lady Macbeth collapsing from a fever and dying.

Foxx plays The Canyon while climbing the charts
      TRUSTING HIS INTUITION — Jamie Foxx of Westlake Village wows the audience on opening night of his 2009 Intuition Tour at The Canyon in Agoura Hills. Foxx's song "Blame it on Alcohol" is his first No. 1 single on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and it reached No. 2 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. He performed at The Canyon on June 16.

Ojai folk concert celebrates Weavers
      A concert celebrating the music of The Weavers, one of America's consummate folk groups, will be at 7:30 p.m. Tues., June 30 at the Ojai Art Center Theater, 113 S. Montgomery St., Ojai. A silent auction will start at 7 p.m. and be open during intermission. Signed items donated by Pete Seeger will be on view.

Students unite for Big Band concert
      College students home for the summer just can't get enough jazz. Seventeen music students have collaborated on a show at Blue in Agoura Hills on July 3. Calling themselves the Bugaboo Big Band, the group of mostly college students are preparing to blow the crowd away with some swinging jazz music perfected while away at college.
