Showing initiative to fill a need

GOOD SAMARITAN—Leila Flanagan of Westlake Village will be a seventh-grader at La Reina. She heard that Manna food bank was having problems meeting the needs of Conejo Valley residents, so she decided to do something about it. She wrote letters asking for food donations, attached them to paper grocery bags and left them at doors of neighbors in her cul-de-sac. Three days later, she picked up the bags, and the results are shown here. You, too, can help Manna by becoming a voluntary subscriber to the Thousand Oaks Acorn. If you haven't already done so, please fill out the form on page 4; 40 percent will go to Manna food bank.
