CRPD plans Fourth of July
Conejo Recreation and Park District will present a variety of activities on Sat., July 4.
•A pancake breakfast will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. at Borchard Community Center, 190 Reino Road, Newbury Park.

•A Home Run Derby for men and women ages 18 and up will be at Borchard Community Park field No. 2.
Registration will be from 8:30 through 10:30 a.m.

•The Senior Home Run Derby will be start at 9 a.m. at Borchard Community Park field No. 1. Participating adults must be age 50 or older on or before July 4.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with divisions for men and women.
Awards will be presented by age category.

•Free family open swim will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at the Community Pool at California Lutheran University, 100 Overton Court in Thousand Oaks; Thousand Oaks High School pool, 2323 Moorpark Road; and Newbury Park High School pool, 456 Reino Road.

•A free Fourth of July Concert in the Park will begin at 5 p.m. in Conejo Community Park, 1175 Hendrix Avenue, Thousand Oaks.
The show will feature the Conejo Pops Orchestra with conductor Elmer Ramsey and also the Sherwood Singers.

•The Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular will start at 9 p.m. and is free. Best viewing is from the Janss Marketplace and The Oaks mall parking lots.
Tune in to radio KCLU 88.3 for traffic updates and a patriotic simulcast with the fireworks show.
Traffic flow in the viewing area is coordinated by the Thousand Oaks Police Department. Due to the large volume of traffic after the show, be prepared for delays.
The fireworks show is sponsored by Conejo Recreation and Park District and the city of Thousand Oaks, with support from the Conejo Valley Fireworks Committee.
