All welcome for pancakes, parade

Celebrating Fourth of July in the city of Westlake Village is a 40-year family tradition.

•The Rotary Club of Westlake Village will serve a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. Sat., July 4 at the former Westlake Village Medical Center, 4415 S. Lakeview Canyon Road.

The meal will include pancakes, syrup, sausages, juice and milk.

The cost is $5 per individual or $20 for four or more in a family. All proceeds will be donated to local charities and nonprofit organizations.

•Lineup for the neighborhood parade will begin at 9:30 a.m.

The parade is for members of the military and veterans, families and patriotically decorated strollers, bicycles and scooters. Cars are not permitted.

The parade route is along Agoura Road to nearby Berniece Bennett Park.

•A U.S. flag retirement ceremony led by Scoutmaster Lee Mackay and Boy Scout Troop 752 will take place at the park after the parade.

After the ceremony, families can take part in a free party with DJ Dave Hecht, wheelbarrow races, hula hoop contests, threelegged races, inflatable slides, and free bottled water and popsicles.

The Foxfield Riding Club will have horses available for people to explore the park.
