As summer soon approaches it will mark the end of a wonderful school, University Elementary. Not only did my four siblings and I go there, but my two oldest children did as well.

Looking back on the seven years that my children attended, we've had our ups and downs in the public school system, but ultimately we'll look back fondly on University and the teachers who made a difference.

I want all the schools in Conejo Valley Unified School District that are blessed enough to get some of our University teachers to know just how lucky they are. As a family, we'll never forget teachers like Karen Stapp, Denise Belko, Debbie Neshek, Amy Brown and Mark Hoyle, all of whom made a difference to my kids and helped provide an amazing school year.

This is a sad chapter for our community and many families affected by it, but I can only hope it finds a happy ending, spreading the light of our University "star" teachers to other schools in the district. Libby Stolper Thousand Oaks
