Today I read the article in the Acorn that says that neighbors are encouraged to rat out on other neighbors, say, if they're taking a shower for too long or something similar.

An appeal for help
      I'm a senior citizen who moved into Vallecito Mobile Estates 20 years ago. I've been so happy and have many great friends. We are like family here. If I'm forced to leave because of higher rent, I may end up living in my car.

The Home Depot deserves to open in Thousand Oaks
      It's mind-boggling to watch the Thousand Oaks City Council and staff deliberately thwart the citizens' election results in favor of Home Depot's building on the old Kmart site. The June 11 Thousand Oaks Acorn article didn't mention that an election was held and the people voted in favor of Home Depot.

If coyotes put human beings in peril, shoot them
      Reading the June 11 letter from Mary Troness ("Coyotes were here first and deserve respect") made me think how ridiculous some people can be. When did an animal's rights override a human being's rights? The coyotes have snatched young children out of their protected yards, sometimes in broad daylight.
