Local wines will accompany six-course dinner at Spanish Hills Country Club
      Spanish Hills Country Club will present a Ventura County Wine Trail Dinner from 6 to 10 p.m. Fri., June 19 at 999 Crestview Ave., Camarillo. Wines from Ventura County will be served with a six-course meal by the country club's Chef Karl Holst.

Former child actor now a musician
      Don Grady opened his weekly set at the Fiamme restaurant in Thousand Oaks with "I'm Here," a song he wrote. Although the song introduces Grady's entertaining and lively act, it also reintroduces him to an audience of fellow baby boomers who grew up watching him in the role of Robbie Douglas on the classic '60s sitcom "My Three Sons.

'Steel Magnolias' at Theatre on the Hill a pleasant surprise

      I'm going to admit right off the bat that I've never seen the movie "Steel Magnolias." The only phrase I have ever heard to describe it is "chick flick," which is a genre I avoid like the plague. I was apprehensive going into Gothic Productions' play, expecting to be bored to tears by a manipulative weepfest.

      Conejo Players Theatre will have auditions for "Lovers and Other Strangers" by Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna at 7:30 p.m. Sun. through Tues., July 5, 6 and 7 at 351 S.       The U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West will perform a free concert at 6:30 p.m. Fri., July 3 at Gardens of the World, 2001 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks. Free parking will be available at the Civic Arts Plaza parking structure across the street as well as along T.O Boulevard near the gardens.

Locally Grown concert will feature variety of music
