SCORE offers workshop program to business owners

The Ventura County chapter of the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) is offering a summer workshop program, the Entrepreneur Series, for current and future entrepreneurs.

Six seminars will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. alternate Saturdays starting June 13 at Oxnard College, 4000 S. Rose Ave., Oxnard.

The program is presented by SCORE, a resource partner of the Small Business Administration. SCORE has provided counseling and help to small businesses in Ventura County for nearly 40 years.

The seminars will cover the following topics:

June 13: For the new entrepreneur. Researching ideas, getting permits, financing, marketing and developing a business plan.

June 27: Principles of marketing and creating a successful marketing plan.

July 11: Creating a better cash management plan.

July 25: Building a better business plan.

Aug. 8: Growing, managing and operating a business.

Aug. 22: Internet marketing.

Fees are $159 for workshops one through five together and $183 for the entire series of all six.

The cost for individual sessions is $39 for workshops one through five and $49 for workshop six.

At the door, add $5 to fee.
