Marmonte League's spring standouts honored The Marmonte League announced its All-League teams for spring sports. Drew Sandler of the Simi Valley High baseball team was named Player of the Year. Cody Buckel of Royal and Landon Hunt of Moorpark were named Co-Pitchers of the Year, while Simi Valley skipper Matt La Belle earned Coach of the Year honors. First-team baseball players are Jonathan Meyer and Dennis Vigo of Simi Valley; Bryan Berglund and Jeff Winters of Royal; Avondre Bollar and Danny Leon of Thousand Oaks; Greg Morissey and Luke Swenson of Moorpark; Tim Wise and Christian Yelich of Westlake; Jordan Brower and Jack Marder of Newbury Park; and Adam Landecker of Calabasas. Second-team players are Brent Keys, Levi Shordon and Chris Talley of Simi Valley; Royal's Ryan Cerda; Austin Alvizo, Michael Dennis and Jimmie Sherfy of Newbury Park; Moorpark's Brandon Feig; Ali Hamed and Sam Yarin of Agoura; Kevin Khalili of Calabasas; Mitchell Korey and Cody Thompson of Thousand Oaks; and Nick Truhan of Westlake. Softball Taylor Yamek of Thousand Oaks softball is the Marmonte's Most Valuable Player. Nancy Bowling of Royal garnered Most Valuable Pitcher honors. Caylin Campbell of Westlake is the league's Offensive Player of the Year, while Moorpark's Tori Flores was the Defensive Player of the Year. TOHS' Gary Walin is the Coach of the Year. First-team softball players are Jenna Bandy, Torey Best and Paris Shipp of Thousand Oaks; Nicole Checkie of Newbury Park; Amanda Collins and Melissa Preish of Westlake; Breeanna Holliday of Moorpark; Shannon Kaufmann, Julie Lewis and Stefany Valentino of Agoura; Samantha Mallory of Royal; Amber Olive, Amanda Oliveto, Sophia Perez and Brianna Stephan of Simi Valley; and Lisa Zeitlin of Calabasas.
