Traffic expert named as T.O.'s Officer of the Year
      Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks is honoring a 39year police veteran as the 2009 Thousand Oaks Police Department's Kiwanis Officer of the Year. Senior Dep. Richard Godfrey has been helping the Kiwanis with the Conejo Valley Days parade for decades. He's also shown dedication to the citizens of Thousand Oaks by pursuing his passion—finding the truth.

      Newbury Park A male, 51, allegedly resisted arrest by attempting to hit a Ventura County deputy. The subject was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, being involved in a hitand-run traffic collision and committing battery at 8:25 p.m. May 29 at Conejo Center and Lawrence drives.
