Once again, Mr. John Fonti is loaded with lots of negative opinions about every issue in Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park and Dos Vientos. The truth: After Mr. Fonti's diatribe about how he believes I voted on the issue of parking RVs in residential neighborhoods, let me point out that he was once again mistaken. More ... After reading John Fonti's rant against RV owners and his cry for the rights for the neighbor's peace, one wonders about the rights of RV owners and their peace. It's apparent to agenda-driven people like Mr. Fonti that only his group have rights in his America. More ... We were deeply saddened by news of the tragic accident that left a 7yearold in critical condition. Twenty years ago we might have lost our son, 14, an accomplished cyclist, in a solo bicycle accident caused by a flat tire. The bicycle helmet he was wearing likely spared him serious or grave injury. More ... Tears welled in my eyes when I read about the 7-year-old boy on his bicycle, who was struck by a car in Newbury Park. As a mother, I can't begin to imagine his family's pain. As a licensed driver, I can't realize the anguish that the motorist who hit the boy must be going through. More ... I applaud Maryjane MacLeod on her letter regarding coyotes. I live in Wildwood off of Lynn Road, not far from the new University Village senior home by Cal Lutheran University. More ... As we debate the effects of proposals to pay off the state's debt on local governments and their ability to support vulnerable populations, we should remember that this support is highly leveraged through volunteers. Thousand Oaks' infrastructure is dependent on thousands of volunteers, who contribute hundreds of thousands of hours of their time and expertise yearly. More ... Let me tell it like it is: California is bankrupt. Government workers unions have taken control of the Legislature, just as the UAW took control of the auto industry, and both systems are now bankrupt because greedy people always kill the goose that lays the golden eggs. More ... Regarding President Obama's nominee for the Supreme Court, he made the politically correct choice, but not the correct one.
