Seminar for senior citizens will discuss financial fraud

A seminar titled "Financial Safety in the Golden Years: Protect Yourself with Knowledge" will be from 9 a.m. to noon Thurs., June 25 at the Goebel Senior Adult Center, 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

Public and private agency professionals will present seniors with information on how to avoid financial fraud and scams, and protect their assets.

Agency presenters include Marilyn Berman of Help Unlimited, Shawna Atchison of Ventura County Behavioral Health Older Adult Program, Marcy Snider of Ventura County HAS/ Adult Protective Services, Kathy Terry from Ombudsmen of Ventura County, Monica Neece of Ventura County AAA and Cela Tarver of Bank of America.

The forum will be moderated by Betty Berry, senior advocate with Senior Concerns of the Conejo Valley.

The event is free, and refreshments will be served.
