Junior Women's Club welcomes new members
PASSING THE TORCH—Last year's "Juniors of the Year" recipients Kelly Sarac and Brooke Maclean, ight, bestow the award upon this year's honorees Candi James and Joy Woodruff, left, during the Westlake Village Junior Women's Club recent annual installation dinner. The Westlake Village Junior Women's Club hosted the annual installation dinner at Boccaccio's Ristorante in Westlake Village in May.
The club installed 22 new members and introduced the new 2009-10 board members.
The current co-presidents, Roselle Wolfe and Roubina Coleman, will continue in their positions in the coming year. They introduced the new board members and thanked the outgoing board for their work with the club.
The 2008-09 board and the general membership disbursed more than $40,000 to local charities during the club's fiscal year.
The evening concluded with the annual Junior of the Year ceremony. This year's honor was presented to Joy Woodruff and Candi James for their dedication to the club and years of service.
Both members have been with the club for more than six years. James was co-president from 2006 to 2008.
"We are extremely proud to have Joy and Candi as leaders in our organization," said Coleman. "They are exemplary members and role models for all of us. The entire Conejo Valley has benefited from their dedication to the needy of our community."
The Westlake Village Junior Women's Club, in its 40th year, is open to all women from the greater Conejo Valley area. Members donate their time and talent to serve those in need and raise funds for charitable causes.
