On Wednesday afternoon, the Lancers defeated University High of Irvine to take the CIF-SS Division I team title. The Lancers have won it all.

Thousand Oaks High's boys' tennis team captured the CIF-Southern Section Division I title over University High of Irvine 10-8 on Wednesday at the Claremont Club.

"I'm a little bit numb from the whole thing," Thousand Oaks head coach Dave Assorson said after winning the school's first team championship in tennis. "They tightened it up at the end. But this feels really great.

"It's not going to sink in for another couple of hours."

Senior Kyle McMorrow and sophomore Marcos Giron won all three of their respective singles matches to lead the Lancers, who finished 21-1 overall.

Lancer senior Denis Lin won two out of three matches. The doubles tandem of Alex Johnson and Tyler Bridges took one of three matches, while the duo of Brendon Josephson and Matt Skwaruzynski also pulled out a critical victory.

Thousand Oaks avenged its only loss this season by upending the Trojans, who entered the finale on a 56-match win streak.

Lin and Giron also repeated as CIF-SS doubles champions last weekend at Seal Beach.
