Students chosen for leadership
Five local high school sophomores will attend the annual Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar Series from June 5 to 7 at California Lutheran University.
The students are Siara Behar of Westlake High School, Bryce Beisswanger of Viewpoint, Patrick Rosenberg of Agoura High, Shani Winston of Oak Park High and Melissa Han of Newbury Park High.
Westlake Women's Club will sponsor the students.
HOBY is one of the nation's foremost youth leadership development organizations and has reached more than 365,000 high school sophomores in all 50 states and more than 20 countries.
The seminar was founded by O'Brian in 1958, and the program was inspired by Albert Schweitzer. O'Brian played television's Wyatt Earp and has attended the seminar in the past.
