Calleguas defers water rate increase

Irish John Gore honored by Hospice
      Philanthropist Irish John Gore was brought to tears when friends, family and other admirers filled the Sunset Hills Country Club last month to honor him with an award created just for the occasion. Hospice of the Conejo presented Gore with its first American Hero award as part of the nonprofit group's annual golf tournament and banquet on May 18.

Golf tourney and banquet for Irish John Gore a huge success
      Hospice of the Conejo's May 18 charity golf tournament and banquet honoring Irish John Gore yielded a surprise—three times the anticipated net. "Results indicate instead of raising the $5,000 we'd initially hoped for in this sluggish economy, we netted $15,000," said Irene Brennick, Hospice's vice president for fundraising and the event chair.
