Boys & Girls Clubs offer summer camps
CAMP CAN BE FUN- "Color me beautiful!" Hannah Ross finds a living canvas in Andrea Teodorescu during a Boys & Girls Club of Conejo & Las Virgenes summer camp art class. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Conejo & Las Virgenes will offer a summer camp schedule that includes traditional day camp, traveling adventure, specialty, sports and overnight campouts in Mammoth and the Western Sierras.
The day camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Half-day sports campers have the option to stay on for the rest of the day for $65 a week.
The counselor-in-training program will provide leadership opportunities for teens entering grades 10 through 12. The handson course will have leadership and supervision training, songs, skits, and CPR and firstaid certification.
Colina Middle School Principal Mike Waters will offer a volleyball camp.
Two volleyball camp graduates have joined Penn State's national championship team, and two others have won volleyball scholarships at UC Irvine and Stanford.
Waters will coach all three weeks of the camp: June 22 to 26, July 6 to 10 and July 13 to 17.
All volleyball camp coaches are credentialed teachers. Redwood Middle School coach Leticia Elias will join the coaching staff this year.
