2009-05-28 / Police
Peter Joseph Wagner, 51, of Thousand Oaks has been arraigned on a criminal complaint charging him with four counts of felony sales tax evasion.
Wagner has operated a motorcycle dealership in Thousand Oaks since 1994. The felony complaint alleges that, from January 2004 to June 2007, Wagner underreported the sales made and the tax collected by his business.
The California State Board of Equalization, which conducted the investigation, alleges that the defendant failed to report and pay more than $1.3 million in sales tax collected during that period.
If convicted of all counts, Wagner faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
