TOPD Resource Center will have grand opening in The Oaks mall

The Thousand Oaks Police Department will host the grand opening of The Oaks Police Resource Center storefront from 4 to 6 p.m. Wed., June 3 in The Oaks mall on the lower level, outside Macy's Women's department store in Thousand Oaks.

The event will have an opening ceremony, complimentary child safety fingerprinting and photos, the K-9 Team and free gifts.

Each month, special events will take place at the center, such as child seat safety checks, home security presentations and seasonal crime prevention information.

The center hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The facility will provide services such as fingerprinting, crime trend information and addresses for vacation house checks.

Exclusive police merchandise will be available for sale to the public. The proceeds will go to the department's nonprofit organizations, including the youth and volunteer programs, Search and Rescue, and the K-9 program.

The center is a partnership with The Oaks/Macerich, the city of Thousand Oaks and the Ventura County Sheriff 's Department.
