New chorale to perform two concerts

The new Choral Palette Vocal Ensemble will presenting its inaugural concert at 8 p.m. Sat., May 30 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 32111 Watergate Road, Westlake Village, and 3 p.m. Sun., June 7 at the United Methodist Church, 291 Anacapa Drive, Camarillo.

The ensemble, comprising 12 professional singers, will perform a concert of sacred and secular music by composers from a variety of countries under the direction of James Stemen and Wilbur Skeels.

On the program are several world and West Coast premieres, including "Sanctus," written for 12-voice parts by English composer Graham Lack, and "O vos omnes" by Brazilian composer Flávio Gontijo.

The concerts will also premiere set two of the "Dead Sea Scrolls" by Thousand Oaks composer Wilbur Skeels.

The program includes familiar American sacred works and American folk songs.

Tickets may be purchased at the door at the suggested donation price of $20 for general admission, $15 for seniors and $10 children.
