T.O. exhibitionist has apparently stopped exposing himself
After the Thousand Oaks Police Department asked the public to help identify a man who's been exposing himself since September 2006, the incidents stopped.
Last July, police went public with an incident that had occurred on June 26 near Pederson Road and Northwood Parkway.
"There are no new cases, no new leads, but we are looking for connections in cases in other places. He may be going outside the area," said Detective Eric Buschow, a spokesperson for the Ventura County Sheriff 's Department.
The man was described as in his late teens or early 20s, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, 130 to 150 pounds, slender, with black or dark brown hair. He often wore a cap or hat—on one occasion, a fisherman's-style "Gilligan" hat. He was also known to wear hooded sweatshirts.
The man would expose himself or commit lewd acts in front of female joggers. He was known for hiding in trees or bushes along Pederson Road before indecently exposing himself. Last year, he was reportedly seen in Northwood Parkway, Cypress Place, Calle Estepa and on an access road to open space.
At the time, authorities said they believed the suspect may live in the vicinity of Northwood Parkway or in a neighborhood around or near Pederson Road.
Up to a $1,000 reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest and charges against the perpetrator. Callers may remain anonymous. Call Crime Stoppers at (805) 494-8255.
