Program offers strategies for foster families
      The Ventura Community Colleges/Moorpark College Foster and Kinship Care Training Program will present the program "Resilient Strategies for Dynamic Living" from 6 to 9 p.m. Thurs., June 4 at the Aspiranet Ventura Conference Room, 1838 Eastman Ave., Ste. 100, Ventura.

Skateboard contest is set for Saturday
      Conejo Recreation and Park District will host a skateboard competition from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., May 30 at the Borchard Community Center Skate Park, 190 Reino Road, Newbury Park. The event will have live music, games, prizes and giveaways.

Quest camp features weekly themes
      Quest Summer Day Camp is accepting registration for children entering grades one to six in fall 2009. Camp weeks are June 22 through Aug. 14 at Hillcrest Christian School, 384 Erbes Road, Thousand Oaks. The camp runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Extended care is available for an additional charge from 7 to 9 a.m. and/or 4 to 6 p.m.
