International Christian recording artist coming to LoVEFest

2009-05-21 / Faith

International Christian songwriter and recording artist Brenton Brown will be the headlining artist at the fifth annual LoVEFest '09 concert from 3 to 7 p.m. Sun., June 7 at Gardens of the World, 2001 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. Thousand Oaks.

Brenton has written and recorded contemporary Christian songs such as "Come, Now is the Time," "Hungry" and "Everlasting God."

The program will also have other live contemporary Christian music, food from local restaurants, a silent auction and an opportunity to sponsor an orphaned child in Africa.

The event is sponsored by Lily of the Valley Endeavor (LoVE), a nonprofit organization that supports the Lily of the Valley Children's Village, an orphanage in KwaZulu, South Africa, that provides housing, food, medication, education and care in group homes for children who have been affected and/or infected by HIV/AIDS.

Proceeds from this year's event will go toward providing staff for the recently built Lily Medical Center, which serves the children at Lily and the surrounding community.

Funds raised will also help to provide facilities, staff and operational expenses for all Lily orphanages, schools and projects, including feeding schemes and life skills programs.

Advance tickets are $35 and are tax-deductible.
