2009-05-21 / Community

A town hall meeting for residents of the unincorporated portion of Newbury Park will be at 6 p.m. Wed., May 27 in the multipurpose room of Walnut Elementary School, 581 Dena Drive, Newbury Park.

Representatives of Ventura County agencies, including public works, public safety and public health, will discuss issues of common concern to residents and will answer questions.

The concept of forming a Newbury Park Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) will be introduced. Newbury Park MAC meetings would provide a forum for residents of Casa Conejo to discuss issues of land use, neighborhood beautification, roadways and other infrastructure, and to make recommendations to the board of supervisors.

Casa Conejo is bounded by Borchard and Old Conejo roads and the 101 Freeway and has a population of about 3,000.
